"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." (John 3:7)

Have you had a "KABOOM" with God Yet?

Until you experience the "KABOOM" of spiritual awakening from above, there will be no change in your life. Without a "KABOOM" from above, you will continue to be the same old person that you have always been, living the same old fallen life that you have always lived. You will remain unmoved, unchanged, unenlightened, and unconverted. Many have lived fifty, sixty, or seventy years and they are still in that place.

"Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God." (Psalm 55:19b)

Before you can make any progress, or even acquire any desire to go anywhere with God, or even realize your great need for Jesus you must first have a spiritual KABOOM. This has to do with Divine influence within the human heart. God must open your eyes. He must persuade you of himself and shew you who and what he is, and what he has done for you. He must convict you of your sin and draw and call you to himself. Until this happens, you can experience nothing of the spiritual life, and power, and fellowship with your Creator. God himself must move upon your inner man and powerfully reveal himself to you in a colossal and spiritually explosive manner. At the point of salvation you may not sense or "feel" anything and God may do this work in you in quietness, but the influence and the effect in your heart will be great. His work in you is not sensually experienced, but it is spiritually explosive. When God opens your eyes, suddenly you will see! and when he breathes his life into you, suddenly you will live, and when he gives you a zeal for the truth and for the worship of his person you will be zealous indeed! There will be a great change and you will have a KABOOM of brand new life. You will become something new that you have never been before. You will have a new birth; you will become a new creation.

It may be that you do not quite understand what I am talking about? Is this not because you still cannot as yet hear his word? Unless you are first "born again" or "born from above" you will not possess the ability to touch God or comprehend the power, the love, and the reality of spiritual phenomena within the Kingdom of God. You MUST first be born again; you must have your new spiritual birth. God must first create something new in you.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." (John 3:7)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

THE INNER MAN

A peach offers to us a very clear and simple illustration of what happens to us when we are born from above. A peach has three basic parts, and this illustrates the three parts of a human being as created by God. There is the flesh of the peach which represents our physical body, there is the peach pit which represents our soul (our unique immaterial inner-self comprised basically of the mind, the will, the emotions with conscience and self-consciousness). And lastly there is the kernel or the seed at the very heart of the peach which represents the human spirit (that part of man that can fellowship with God). The soul and the spirit make up the inner man. The body is world-conscious, the soul is self-conscious, and the human spirit is God-conscious. Here is the important part of this analogy: when we are born into this world we are born as a body and a soul only - the human spirit is dead because of sin. Since the fall, we are born incomplete with no functioning human spirit. We are born into spiritual death and we begin our life in a state of enmity against God (Romans 8:7) We are alienated from God and disinterested with the things of God. The human spirit is the means by which a man or woman can know God and relate to him. The human spirit is that part of man that enables him to comprehend and function on the spiritual level with God. Without the spirit it is impossible to connect with God for "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24). Just as a man must have a brain to understand and calculate the higher laws of mathematics we must have a spirit to comprehend and engage in the spiritual things of God. In his fallen state, man is so dead to God that it is the Holy Spirit himself that must first stand in place of the dead spirit of man in order to convict and convince him of his need for Christ.

If you have not experienced the "KABOOM" of the new birth, which is the quickening of a spirit within you, (Titus 3:5) then you will remain completely dead to the things of God. But when you have that KABOOM, the Holy Spirit moves powerfully in the inner man and births a new spirit within you and also takes up permanent residence within so that you may fellowship with God forever.

"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

"But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:14)

"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be." (Romans 8:7)

"These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit." (Jude19)

"not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit," (Titus 3:5)

Be honest with yourself. Are you as dead as a doornail when it comes to spiritual things? Is there no interest besides an occasional curiosity for the Bible and the things of God? Is there no real place for Christ's person in your heart. Is he consistently absent in your daily goings? Does your life look no different than what is common in the world of lost souls? Perhaps Christianity to you is nothing more than some moral code of conduct that is seldom applied to life or thinking (that is not Christianity). Perhaps you come from a "Christian" background, but it has never really gotten into you. Has there been a true Christian in your life, who for many years, has been to you a witness of the truth. Do you placate him by "saying" that you believe, when in fact, you have not really had a conversion? If this is true, then you are still in need of a KABOOM from above. Dear friend, why do you resist? Until you have your KABOOM with God, your life will remain nothing more than an empty howling wasteland, on the island of make-believe, desperately in need of the quickening power that only heaven can give. Do you want to continue to be what you have always been, or are you ready to be made completely new? Fall on Jesus by faith while there is still sand in the hourglass. He stands at the door and knocks; open the door and let him shake the foundation of your soul and fill you with sweet incense (Isaiah 6). When he comes in, he will breath new life, open the eyes of your understanding, fill you with new purpose, and make you a living spirit.
